Analyze Search Terms

Use wordtracker or Googles Keyword Research Tool or other means to see which of the search goals are worth an effort.
- Don't invest effort in something nobody searches for.
- Don't invest effort in a term they are bound to win anyway such as those with their name. This page, for example, would win a search for 'hotdoodlefunnyterm' because there just are not many references anywhere to this term.

Add Alt Text for All Images
|
Don't just describe the image, fill the alt text with SEO terms. No wasted words, consider the alt text to be for the eyes of the search engines only.
In general text, you can Insert/Edit image and set the Image Description. Picture blocks have descriptions in the advanced tab. |
|
|
Set Page Aliases
|
Go to each page and edit its page properties. Set the "Page URL Alias" to be something with the core SEO term in it.
- Do use hyphens. Search engines are not humans. You might think the Freemonthyopnotherapist is "Fremont hypnotherapist", but to them it could also be "Free hyp the rapist". Make it easy for the search engines - break up the words and take away the surprises.

What is SEO Level 1?

SEO Level 1 - Embedded Search terms is the embedding of extra search bait (more relivancy) into a page such that humans overlook it while search engines notice it. |

What is SEO Level 2?
|
Once you have done SEO Level 1 you have embedded search bait into the tops and bottoms of pages. However, any particular page has the same balance of SEO terms every time it is seen. If does not, for example, one time emphisize Fremont Stop Smoking and another time emphisize Newark Weight Loss. It also shows the same content for all domains. SEO Level 2 can cause the page, and the site title to change to focus on one set of terms over other permutations, essentially making hundreds of versions of the page. |

Syntax of SEO Category References

The syntax to reference the articles is {$category_name} such as {$location}, {$service}, or {$need}.
We recommend using lower case category names.

Make the Landing Page Intro Text Exactly Match the Meta Description
|
For best SEO, the meta description should also be present in the page. (It is not cler that the meta descrition has any impact anymore, but it is still a best practice to have ONE good description and to have it both as the meta description and on the page.)
Having a clean description with SEO in it both helps win SEO, and it helps win conversions. Compare Offering bookeeping, payroll, audits in the East Bay Area including Milpitas, Newark, Union City, Hayward, Fremont . to Offering Fremont Tax Preparation for 30 years.
Did you really read the first one, or did your eyes glaze? How about the second one? The more targeted the more attractive the description is for humans and for SEO.
The easiest way to obtain this is to use { $SITE_DESCRIPTION } as your introductory text -- this is suggested in the checklist for SEO level 2. Now embed TERM references into this description (edit from Administration / Configure Site -- at least until you get into the domain specific SEO level.)

What is best is if the page really were a heating page and the other really an air conditioning page. |

Why an Alt Home Page and not just a Regular Page?
