Migration date:  9:00pm PST, Jan 13, 2017


HotDoodle is upgrading servers at 9:00pm PST on Friday, Jan 13, 2017. Your current email setup (Webmail, iPhone mail app, Android mail app, Outlook, Thunderbird, and etc.) will stop working unless you make the following changes.

Please find the email we sent you on Jan 12, 2017 with subject line: Important! xxx@xxx.com Email login change due to HotDoodle server upgrade and find your new email password before you go on.


Migration Process

Starting Friday night we will stop the old email servers. During the next day we will copy the emails to the new servers and point the mail exchange "MX" records to the new servers.  You will see the updated and newly arriving emails there.


Step 1: Check your new email

To check your new email account, you can log into your Webmail:

URL: https://mail.hotdoodle.com/webmail
Email Address: Your email address
Password: Sent to your email

In the next screen, choose Horde as your Default Webmail Application. If your login doesn't seem to work, please contact us as soon as possible before 11:59am on Sunday since we need to make sure that your account has correctly been migrated.

 


Step 2: Make changes to your email clients

We emailed you your new username and password on Jan 12, 2017. Please modify your email clients (iPhone mail app, Android mail app, Outlook, Thunderbird, and etc.) after 9:00pm PST on Jan 13, 2017 with the following settings:

Smartphone:
Username: Same as your email address
Password: Sent to your email
Incoming Mail Server: mail.hotdoodle.com
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.hotdoodle.com

Outlook of Thunderbird:
Username: Same as your email address
Password: Sent to your email
SSL: STARTTLS
Authentication: Normal Password
Incoming Mail Server: mail.hotdoodle.com
Port: 143
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.hotdoodle.com
Port: 587


cPanel Management

If you have more than one email accounts, you can log into your cPanel account to modify the email accounts. You can set your personal email password, forward emails, filte emails into folders, and get instructions on how to configure your email clients.

URL: https://mail.hotdoodle.com/cpanel
Username: Sent to your email
Password: Sent to your email


Outlook Setup


1. In Outlook, choose File > Account Settings > Account Settings.

2. Select the email account you want to change, and then choose Change.



3. You can change any of the information on the POP and IMAP Account settings page, including name, email address, and password. Use the following info:

SSL: SSL (if you don't see this input, ignore it)
Authentication: Normal Password (if you don't see this input, ignore it)
Incoming Mail Server: mail.hotdoodle.com
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.hotdoodle.com

Username: Your email address
Password: Sent to your email



4. Choose More Settings > Advanced to change other settings, such as the default ports:

Incoming Server (IMAP): 993
Encrypted Connection: SSL
Authentication: Normal Password

or

Incoming Server (POP3): 995
Encrypted Connection: SSL
Authentication: Normal Password

------------

Outgoing server: 465
Encrypted Connection: SSL
Authentication: Normal Password



iPhone Setup


If you already have an email account set up on your iPhone, you can follow the instructions below to update your account info:

1. Open Settings.
2. Scroll to the Mail app and click on it.
3. Click Accounts.
4. Click your existing account and enter your new username (same as your email address), password (sent to your email), and mail server (mail.hotdoodle.com).

Thunderbird Setup


If you already have an email account set up on your Outlook or Thunderbird, you can open the account/server settings and change the following:

Username: Your email address
Password: Sent to your email
* If you have saved old password, you will need to modify or forget it.

Incoming Mail Server: mail.hotdoodle.com
Port: 143
Username: Your email address
Connection Security: STARTTLS
Authentication: Normal Password

Outgoing Mail Server: mail.hotdoodle.com
Port: 587
Username: Your email address
Connection Security: STARTTLS
Authentication: Normal Password

Auto Config Your Email Client Using Webmail


Automatically configure email client

After logging into your Webmail, you can use the "Configure Mail Client" option to have your email client automatically configured. Before you use this option, please make sure that you have your email client opened.

For example, if you have Outlook installed on your laptop, you should use this "Configure Mail Client" option on your laptop. If you want to configure your Mail App on your smartphone, you should use the "Configure Mail Client" option on your phone.

How to Change Your Email Password


Access to your Webmail

If you would like to change your password, you can log into your Webmail and configure the account settings.

Username: Same as your email address
Password: Sent to your email

In the top gray bar, click Password and Security under your email address. Then you will be able to change your password.
