Setting Domain Specific Default SEO Expansion

What if the catagories and articles were as follows:

Location Service Need
#1 Fremont #3 Hypnosis #5 Stress
#2 Newark #4 Hypnotherapy #6 Weight Loss

Lets say that you had two domains:
   fremont-hypnotherapy-for-stress.com
   newark-hypnotherapy.com

You might then want the default SEO to be as  follows

Domain Location Service Need Code
fremont-hypnotherapy-for-stress.com #1 Fremont #3 Hypnosis #5 Stress 1_3_5
www.fremont-hypnotherapy-for-stress.com #1 Fremont #4 Hypnotherapy #5 Stress 1_4_5
newark-hypnotherapy.com  #2 Newark  #4 Hypnotherapy  #5 Stress  $2_4_5
www.newark-hypnotherapy.com  #2 Newark  #4 Hypnotherapy  #6 Weight Loss  $2_4_6

Note that the "$" in the Newark domain's $2 code means that the domain will generate only the SEO permutations with Newark in them. (Read Default SEO Article.)

Now we need there to be default pages for each of the domain with the desired SEO pre-populated into them.

So how do we do that?   There are two approaches: an alt landing page per domain, and shared alt landing pages with domain overrides.

With an Alt Landing Page Per Domain:

With this approach there would be 4 alt home pages made, one for each domain above (with the "www." counting as a separate domain).

  • If you were totally tuning things there would be no generator, just finely tuned SEO bait hand inserted into each page.  Lots of work. Or

  • Each page can have an independent SEO permutation generator to cause there to be N versions of it, each with different related SEO, Or

  • Each page can have a mirrored copy of a single SEO permutation generator (located on the [ SEO ] page), and in these mirrors the configuration would have set a the codes above as the view adjustment value for "Default article to show for SEO"

The way view adjustments work is that each mirror can have a separate value, so the 4 mirrors of the shared SEO generator could all set different SEO defaults.

With Shared Alt Landing Pages with Per Domain Overrides:

With this approach there might have built just 2 alt home pages, one for stress and one for weight loss, each with end user messaging appropriate to those areas.

  • We would set the domain home pages to the matching page.

  • In each page would be a mirror of a container that happens to hold the SEO generating block. The SEO block would have just one copy in the [ SEO ] page, and one mirrored into the container, but that container would happen to be used all over the place. This gives us just one "Default article to show for SEO" value to edit and it will be present in all uses of that container.

  • As the value for "Default article to show for SEO" we put the following (all as one long string without the newlines)
       fremont-hypnotherapy-for-stress.com:1_3_5,
       www.fremont-hypnotherapy-for-stress.com:1_4_5,
       newark-hypnotherapy.com:$2_4_5
       www.newark-hypnotherapy.com:$2_4_6,
       1_4_6

(The last 1_4_6 is setting the SEO to show in case the page is found by some other domain.)

Now browses of each domain causes the appropriate alt home page to be shown, all filled with the SEO that matches its target.
