Syntax of SEO Category References

The syntax to reference the articles is
  {$category_name}
such as {$location}, {$service}, or {$need}.

We recommend using lower case category names.

You may also use {$title1} {$title2} etc, where these correspond to the first category (whatever it may be), the second category, etc.  However, we find that folks may get confused when they use these.

Changing the case:  We recommend that you enter lower case article titles, unless it is a proper noun, and alter the capitalization when referenced.

  • {$catname} -- a lower case cat name reference means to use the corresponding article title exactly as is.
      Example: {$service} = "oracle database administration",  same for {$title2}

  • {$Catname} -- an initial case cat name reference means to use the corresponding article title except to capitalize the first letter of the first word.
    Example: "{$Service} by Joe Blow" = "Oracle database administration by Joe Blow", same for {$Title2}

  • {$CATNAME} -- an upper case cat name reference means to use the corresponding article title except that the first letter of eachword is capitalized..
    Example: {$SERVICE} = "Oracle  Database Administration", same for {$TITLE2}

Note: This applies whatever the category name.   If the category name were "Service" (with a capital letter) you would still need to reference {$service} with no capital in order to not have the value initial cased.    This is why we recommend that category names be lower case and that article titles, other than proper nouns that must always be capitalized, be lower cased.
