You may now create pages under the [ Alt Home Page ] with whatever content you want, no matter how wildly different than the rest of the site or the normal home page.    You could even put a back country guiding page on a sheet metal site.

You could, but it is probably not a good idea.  Stay at least somewhat on theme.   The point is, however, that you do not need to be constrained by conformity with the other pages.
