Regular Users: Configuring Gmail
Here you see how a working email account is configured in gmail.

Log into your Gmail account
Click on the gear and go to "settings"

01 click settings

Then go to the Accounts and Import tab

02 Accounts Tab

Then click "Add a POP3 mail account you own"

03 add pop
04 enter email address

Note that the "username" has a prefix, 9_ in this case.

If other clients also read the email click "Leave a copy".  If gmail is the only email reader unclick "Leave a copy"

You can choose to send, but it requires more steps.

"Sending through gmail" is the simplier way and works for nearly everyone.

If you really must have the originating email server be your HotDoodle email server you can choose to have gmail send through it. 

Note the selection of port 25.

You may need to verify account ownership to Google.   You can read the email from the Control Panel if needed, or it may appear in your gmail inbox based on the steps completed so far.

When sending messages, you can pull down on the "from" field to choose from whom the email is being sent.
